This is just a sloppy test, I don't know how long I will keep it going. For some reason, no matter what video setting I use, I can't keep the speed hit from being over 50%
Don't forget to change the resolution to 720p. Also, I'm not sure if the sound is coming through.
Note: SF version is mislabeled, it's the Syzygy dev version from today.

Very Nice! Like having your PC screen right here.RJN wrote:This is just a sloppy test, I don't know how long I will keep it going. For some reason, no matter what video setting I use, I can't keep the speed hit from being over 50%

If you are using wirecast for You tube. Go to the file tab menu, and under preferences uncheck "use high quality video". If you have not done so yet.
Under output settings. Make sure you are using 720P minimum. I am only using 10% CPU power to run my encoder.
Another trick to reduce the cpu usage is to set your screen resolution to 720p on your display monitor. So you will have less screen to encode.
Also make sure you are only encoding the window of Arena when you are setting up your local screen output. There is part of the configuration when setting up how to broadcast. You have the option to encode your monitor, or a window of a program, or a game.
I hope this helps. You should not be using 50% cpu to encode unless your on a slow amd dual core cpu.
How many KBPS are you uploading to run your feed. I am at 800 to 1000 KBPS. Showing on my wirecast encoder.

Re: HD 720p YouTube Live Test H4 vs SF dev 6-piece Syzygy
Hi Mark, I've done all that except change my screen resolution. It is only an i5 dual core, so not the fastest machine anyway, except for the SSD and having 16GB RAM helps Syzygy hits.
Now that I closed the YouTube window on my end, it's a bit better.
Wirecast is using about 2000kb/s average.
This isn't a serious tournament meant to prove anything, just giving your idea a try.

If you reduce your screen resolution down to 720p on your display monitor, this wil reduce the encoder workload by almost half. And you will be in business.RJN wrote:Hi Mark, I've done all that except change my screen resolution. If you need too only test with only 1 cpu, there is nothing wrong with that.
Your test looks good on you tube!

Re: HD 720p YouTube Live Test H4 vs SF dev 6-piece Syzygy
Komodo-TCECr added. This "tournament" is mainly for viewing pleasure and not rigorous testing, obviously.
SF engine name has been updated to match what's actually running. H4 and SF were tied at 16 points each when I paused the YouTube broadcast to add Komodo.
BTW, I wonder if Martin can implement something like this for TCEC? The DVR feature is nice for those who miss exciting moments, or don't have time to stay up late, or working, etc, when major matches come up.
Just a thought. I have been streaming for over 10 hours now no problem (except the performance hit, which should be nothing for TCEC hardware)

New live YouTube link, this time with DVR turned off. For some reason, the original live streaming stayed active, but the video became "unavailable" when I checked it tonight.

Tournament will be paused in a few hours, for about half the day. Over 3 days of nonstop live streaming so far, no issues (this time without the DVR function enabled).
