And thanks to you, Operator #1, who helped me a lot running Gaviota on the monthly tournaments and reporting issues.Modern Times wrote:Very good news, thanks Miguel and Adam !

Gaviota is soon going to catch up with DiscoCheck 5.2. I'm running a test now, and the elo difference seems to stabilize around 70 elo (tc=60+0.5 hash=64 1CPU).
But what worries me though is the diff stat:
Code: Select all
95 files changed, 6374 insertions(+), 2231 deletions(-)
To give you an idea, DiscoCheck only consists of 29 files and 3472 lines of code (5052 lines in total including blank and comment). Granted, it's not SMP and doesn't including PolyGlot parsing code, but still, a clean 3000 elo engine should hold within 4000 lines of code IMO.
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

Re: Gaviota v1.0 (Release)
I think there are still Linux/Windows issues with the ini file format - after editing in Windows notepad, the line spacing etc is lost.
