If we take noise away we see that Stockfish is 8 ELO higher now.

The ELO is probably more higher in favour to Stockfish with 1 minute/move.

Maybe we will see a new Houdini 5 soon that will close the gap?

I'm sure there is an un-released version of Houdini that has gained more than +10 Elo since Houdini 4.

As Gunnar says, the pure list is the one I prefer

That is the +8 Elo

The pure list has less games so it has more statistical noise so I disagree that it has less noise.

With many Threads as 6, Houdini probably will be more strong than Houdini which is less effective with many threads. The test I refered to is with 1 Threads. The tested Stockfish is May version. It is therefore the most strong Stockfish intil now. My own test indicate that Stockfish is maybe 12 ELO stronger than Houdini with 1 sek/move. But the ELO difference is probably more with 4 treads and more sekund/move. Stockfish, I feel, is a more tactical engine than Houdini. Houdini is more stategic. Kommodo is also more strategic with good position understanding. This is my feeling and not a fasit.

Stockfish 220214 and 260214 is very very strong engine. After this, the level go down for a while before the level go higher again. 220214 is still my favorite Stockfish. But the latest made is altso very strong, and on some point stronger than 220214. I use both of this engine a lot.

On the link we can take a look and this show that 260214 is over 20 ELO higher than Houdini 4.
