I.G.W.O.B.T. III edition

Hello to everybody,

Igwobt is an international competition between opening books relayed on gsei site (International Gsei Web Opening Book Tournament).
The tournament will be composed of only 2 round robin.
Time control is 15 min + 10 sec.
Chess engine is Stockfish 6
Start date 24 april at 21:00 (Italy UTC)

All those who are interested to participate in the III edition are encouraged to send me an email.

Only 12 participants, and one place have already been allocated: None selected book (Stockfish without opening book)
Only abk (arena book) are allowed for this edition.

Not really, at least regarding the book entered in my name - this is from the Arena website and dates from 2005 not 2011. It was developed using Shredder 7, what is surprising is that it has only lost 1 game in 20!

I am not surprised at the performance of the 'None selected book'.
This is a tournament where the hardware is good, where it is used one of the strongest engines in the world and where the tc is relatively long (15 '+ 10").

Increasing processing power, the depth of the game increases and winning chances decrease: The differences tend to shrink.
