Chess Cheating

Post by CRoberson »

Instead of one person cheating, a team effort could be used. The person that is planned to win doesn't cheat. His team members cheat occasionally and only against those that challenge their friends score.

This is sort of like what Fischer claimed the Russians did in tournaments.

Back in Fischer's day, why wasn't the "40 move adjournment" rule considered cheating?

When Fischer played Spassky, Spassky had a whole team of Soviet GMs doing his analysis during the 40th move break. Fischer had 1 or 2 GMs. I would take a team of 24 Soviet GMs over Komodo/SF to analyze for me anytime, and it was considered legal.

24 soviet grandmasters isn't even an insect on the shoulder of Komodo or Stockfish.

True, but it was still unfair. Adjournments should have been banned much earlier than they were.
Deasil is the right way to go.

Fischer didn't take the advice of his seconds and he thrashed Spassky and his team.

There is nothing wrong with it.

Why? The greatest matches were in the 20th century.

Today, it's a joke.
