Where did the Houdini 5.0 post get moved to?

Post by TShackel »

Hi,

Where did the houdini 5.0 post get moved to? I saw the first post and was very interested, and I wanted to read the rest of the posts. But I wasn't able to because it was moved. Then I checked in all the other talkchess forums and didn't find it. Can you bring it back?

Sincerely,

Tim.

It goes at the same place as the next Houdini : into the interstellar space :-)

Hello Tim,

The post contains material which is of dubious authenticity. It cites private correspondence and details which one does not know if the alleged author would want released.

It was therefore removed and will only be returned if the Houdini author or his representative can verify it is authentic.

Perhaps Lanzo Nazaire could be convinced to repost to CTF.
Deasil is the right way to go.

Hi Roger. Thanks for providing at least some explanation. I personally don't think he was lying because it looks like something Houdart would say and I think he just wanted to report what he was told. However, I can also understand your point that it's private correspondence, and Robert Houdart did not make these statements himself.

I guess I was just hoping he really did get a message from houdart, and that he was saying the houdini project is not done, but because of the strength of sstockfish and komodo he wanted to wait until it was stronger.

I'd hate to think that the original poster would just fabricate an email communication and lie to everybody just to waste everybody's time.

Sincerely,

Tim.

Hello Tim,

The post will be returned once the substance of the communication can be verified.

I imagine that several persons would be excited about the prospect of another chess monster entering the ring.

After all his posts why not just remove the poster?

Yes, my thoughts EXACTLY. That post had a Ring of Truth about it, not trolling.
It may or may not be ethically correct to post it here, but it's just the sort of thing R Houdart would say....same style.

That's basically what it said, yes.
