XBoard for Mac: failure to update engine identification banner display
When loading an engine which does not have its own identification banner, the banner from the previous engine in the corresponding slot remains displayed.

This sounds like a genuine bug. I will make sure that the stored image gets purged when loading of a new one fails, in the next release.
Note that you can switch off displaying of logos through the (persistent) option -logoSize 0, which you might prefer if you run many engines that do not have logos.

hgm also put an option for it in the View->Board menu under Logo Size and set it to 0. (requires restart of app)
