Symbolic vs tscp: 1,000 game match results

The match was played at 1 min + 1 sec with Symbolic using a single search thread and no pondering. Both programs ran on the same machine, a 2006 Mac Pro.

Symbolic did use transposition tables, although its main position table was operated in hint mode, providing only moves and not scores. Symbolic also used its tablebase files, but these were resident on a spinning HD and not on a much, much faster SSD.

The primary purpose of the match was to test operational reliability: resistance to freezes, crashes, and other anomalies. None were encountered. Five games ended with a time forfeit by tscp when it hit its 200 move game length limit; all other losses by tscp were by checkmate. All of Symbolic's losses were resignations; the program resigns when its opponent achieves a mate-in-three position.

Symbolic's match score: 713 wins 164 losses 123 draws (+214 elo)

Of the 1,000 games, 77 were replicants. The replicant count would likely be reduced if more lines were added to tscp's default 385 line opening book, but for testing purposes I haven't changed its book or its move selection logic. Symbolic's opening book for the match had about a half million unique position/move pairs.
