The ultimate weakest, as it cannot do it at all! So it would lose every game, even against a random mover.

How strong would it be if it plays poker? How about Age of Empires?musketeerchess wrote:How strong is komodo when playing Chess Variant, Musketeer Chess
Does that question make any sense at all?
Disclosure: I work for DeepMind on the AlphaZero project, but everything I say here is personal opinion and does not reflect the views of DeepMind / Alphabet.

Of course he means "How strong would Komodo play Musketeer chess if it uses similar algorithms as it uses in normal Chess but then tuned for Musketeer Chess"

Re: How strong would be Komodo if it plays Musketeer Chess
That still is a meaningless question. Better would be:
When another program would use similar algorithms as Komodo uses for normal Chess to play Musketeer Chess, how strong would it be?
That would still be ill defined, as it is not clear what 'similar' means. Skipper and Komodo also use algorithms that are very similar, and yet their strength is somewhat different. So the details matter, but of course the details are exactly what make the difference betwen variants. E.g. Komodo has no idea at all how to decide when to gate pieces onto the board.
And 'strong' in Musketeer Chess means nothing, as there is nothing to compare it against. There are no human GMs for Musketeer Chess, no rating list, nothing...
Of course the OP is not really interested in any answer to this question at all, but just wants to make people aware of Musketeer Chess.
