A storebrand 256G usb3.0 flashdrive at MicroCenter for $60US just became available. It is not even in the current ad.
Advantages over an SSD are that it is portable and does not require internal installation. So far it has worked very well. I do not dispute that getting a samsung or intel SSD is better and faster, but this solution seems to be sufficient for me.
