Tak: a new game; complexity between checkers and chess

See:

Also: http://cheapass.com/sites/default/files ... -10-16.pdf

Sides: 2, usually white and black, starting color alternates

Board: NxN cells; 3 <= N <= 8; starts empty

Piece kinds: 2, stone and capstone; a stone is placed either flat or standing

Goal: build a road of same color flat stones from one side of the board to another

Stacking: a stone may have zero or more flat stones placed underneath

See the rules PDF for details on stacking and moving

Writing an engine for this could make some real money in the phone/tablet market.

History?
Tak is an ancient and well-traveled game, with many variations and styles of play. The companion book will touch on the game's origins, and will explain the ancestry and meaning of various types of pieces. It will contain an expanded rules section describing regional game variations, as well as strategy hints and terms for various plays and combinations.
What?? :roll: :roll:
