Blast from the past

Post by Guenther »

::searching for the first version number of xb compatible SSEChess I found this:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searc ... eJEFP4uxwJ

(you must copy the whole line)

I did not know that all of the old rgcc newsgroup(s) seem to be archived and also not that they are firmed under Google.
Who was the 'owner' of rgcc in the past? I just came to talkchess in around 2000.

I remember him and having him comment in some of my threads.

Komputer Korner was a very helpful guy who was there by his own initiative, answering technical questions about computer chess for a few years in rgcc - mainly re: GUIs and engines. Eventually he moved on, after he found a new job or something like that, around 1998-99.

A really enthusiastic computer chess supporter.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

He was a decent person. He even looks it in his pic.
