Time management trick
In most cases not allowing a search to continue more than one ply deeper than the last search saves a lot of time. Definitely got better results.
If you are on a sidewalk and the covid goes beep beep
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat
Covid covid runs through the town all day
Can the people ever change their ways
Sherwin the covid's after you
Sherwin if it catches you you're through
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat
Covid covid runs through the town all day
Can the people ever change their ways
Sherwin the covid's after you
Sherwin if it catches you you're through

Re: Time management trick
Could be risky: if tactical complications suddenly come within the search horizon or you get a fail low at the root on the last iteration, don't you want to extend the search?

Often it is a forced move where there are no reasonable alternatives. Sort of like the easy move idea but at least it is searched to a reasonable depth.
