Looking for open source engines that work on Win and Linux

Post by AndrewGrant »

I seem to be having a very difficult time finding engines that meet the follow criteria

Open source
Compiles on Linux
Compiles on Windows or includes a 32bit and 64bit binary
ELO is somewhere between 2450 and 2700
UCI engine, not xboard

I'm trying to write a testing framework that can utilize all the extra computers I have lying around. I need to be able to hit all of those criteria to do it.

start from this 2 lists, which meet your first and last criteria, intersect these lists and filter it further

On mind come Stockfish, Glaurung, Texel, Senpai/Kohai, Scorpio, Crafty, Protector, Ivanhoe, Hakkapeliitta.

Most do not fit your 3rd criteria, but you can easily make them weaker by time control.

Alternatively use CCRL 40/40 and filter by Open Source engines:

http://www.computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/40 ... ons_only=1

You get a long list from BBChess 1.3b (2477) to Daydreamer 1.75 64-bit (2675).
