Thank you for the test! The bad loser part of me wants to point out that the august 22. version had a pretty bad null-move bug. I don't know that it would have made a difference to the overall result though, PyChess is a pretty great program :-) In my tests sunfish usually has 1-3 more plies in the midgame, but PyChess compensates with much better knowledge. PyChess is also much better at avoiding threefold repetitions while it's in the lead.

I wonder what Python version you use? Both programs seems to play the best with pypy 2.7.
