For those who are interested in how their dedicated chess boxes compare.

Here is the link to my Mac Pro and other similar configured boxes - my machine is listed under "DieHardFan"- but you can test both windows and Linux boxes in addition to Macs. The Mac Pro I currently use was purchased used and is now almost 7 years old - but still ok for my purposes.

You can also search by processor make and model and it's a good way to estimate what your favorite engine might do on a particular setup. Just remember most chess engines are integer processing based - so it is those integer benchmarks that you should focused on to estimate how it would do with a chess engine.
