Hi,

I was perplexed at your Komodo 10.2 results. Mark and Larry reported a 22 elo gain, and on my own testing of K 10.2 vs. K 10.1, K 10.2 actually had +28 elo for me after over a thousand games. So I'm very perplexed you showed a regression between 10.1 and 10.2. My testing agrees with Mark and Larry's. And IPON also showed an elo gain, although maybe not quite as much as Mark and Larry reported. Very confused by your result especially since you appear to have played over a thousand games.

Sincerely,

Tim Shackel.

I am not too much surprised. This only shows that 1000 games are not enough to show a true difference between two programs with very close strength. And both have ony about 1000 games. If you are interested to find another reason: all games can be downloaded....

22 Elo should show itself in 1000 games I would think. Thousands would be needed to test one or two Elo. 22 Elo is pretty substantial though. Nevertheless, your results are what they are.
