Houdini 5 Tactical Mode
In my PC it is around 10-15% faster than Houdini 3 in same mode - nice. But alas finding mates (shortest of course ) is now worse.

That's also my finding, it's slightly better than Houdini 3's Tactical Mode (but YMMV with different tactical test suites).
Which was quite difficult to achieve, the stronger I make Houdini the less tactical it becomes. Comparatively speaking Houdini 5's Tactical Mode employs a lot more tricks than Houdini 3's counterpart.
The Tactical Mode isn't really specialized in finding mates (it's not really the goal of the tactical mode), it only specializes in finding the first move.
