Both the computer at chessbomb, and Judit Polgar said that this what Karjakins (black) opportunity, but he just didn't take it!
What a shame!

MAY be the longer analysis is correct, that there was absolutely no reason to have played 19....Qg4.

to be honest, Carlsen has been playing the better chess, pushing more, so he deserved more to be in the lead, though enormous psychological tension made him lose a game and trail.

admittedly, both players have been playing very low chess, Carlsen making so many mistakes, that he is unrecognizable. Again, only reason for this could be tremendous psychological pressure.

The WC will change nothing, even if Karyakin wins. He still has to prove he can win most of the tournaments he is taking part in, to be considered a worthy champion. According to Kasparov's definition ( and Kasparov is very smart, both on and off the board), which I fully share, there are 2 preconditions for being the world champion:

1) win the WC
2) win most of the tournaments the player is taking part in

Carlsen did that, Kasparov did that, Karpov did that, Fischer did that;

Anand never did that, Kramnik never did that, and, most probably, Karyakin will never do that.

If Karyakin succeeds, very well, he will be worthy, otherwise, even if he wins the WC and does not manage to wield supremacy in tournaments, I will not consider him the WC. Neither will Kasparov.

Nevertheless, I have little doubt Kasparov considers both to be quite worthy Champions!

It was jokes.

The game is won by Karjakin of way extraordinary.
Yesterday in the game 9 back to Carlsen had almost KO.
But all are seeing them analysis of them motors,
and are critical to these "players with the hands in head" concentrating.
If karjakin gets to be champion of the world we should remove us Hat before his feat.

no buscas peras al olmo.

If Karyakin wins the WC, and the starts winning most tournaments he takes part in, then, of course, he will be worthy champion.

if he fails to do that, sorry, not my champion.

do you know the confidence intervals of a 12 game match? (I guess those apply to humans too)

it is not in vain that Kasparov insisted on first-win-6-games rule, which makes much more sense, and Fischer went as high as 10 wins.

declaring a player world champion who has won just a single game is a bit funny, is not it?

Champion charisma is not completely related to his tournament performance... That performance has to be constant for a while and needs to have some personal aura that fascinates people.
