Final study

Post by fantasmadel50 »

Aca studying, I consult you for my idea of the finals, I tell you: it turns out that I get to the finals studying and most of the games that one sees abandoned before and it is rare to see an end play. Then I put the engine I have in chessbase fritz 11 deep and the end throws either. I would like to know what engine I have to put and how it is set or what you tell me to play at the end and can have a clear idea of the continuations. Is it okay for you to understand what I think? I have the two volumes of "planning the end" and it really seems so far clear, but it happens what I said above.Thank you very much for your help.

If I understand you correctly you are talking about chess endgames, right? But what is it you want to know/to learn:

a) how to play endgames (better) as a human, or
b) how chess engines play endgames?

In case of a) I suggest to work through a good book (which one, that depends on your playing strength and other factors), or use other endgame-specific material like ChessBase DVDs.

In case of b) you would need a human endgame expert and a lot of time to understand the engine's moves. I would not recommend to learn from endgames played by strong chess engines since their moves are often too difficult to understand.
