So Komodo needs 21 elo to catch SF8 on this list, or 23 elo on the 10 minute list. On CCRL 40/40 we need 9 elo on 4 cpu or 17 on 1 cpu. CEGT shows a much larger gap at 40/20 (which is really about 40/10 I think due to obsolete hardware adjustment) but a large Komodo lead at 40/120 (though only a hundred games each and using K10.2, not 10.3). So it seems we need about 20 elo to catch SF8 at intermediate time controls. Not easy, but probably achievable in February.

You can also note than Komodo is 53 elo below Stockfish 8 on 1 minute on fastgm, but is 23 on 10 minutes and 21 on 60 minutes. So I guess Komodo doesn't gain much between rapid and long time control. But it does win a lot between bullet and rapid.
