Fritz 15 UCI embedding into external graphical interfaces

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello,

the Fritz 15 online user´s guide http://help.chessbase.com/f15-eng.pdf
describes on page 249 (chapter 3.8.5) the implementation of other external UCI-compatible engines into Fritz GUI, but not vice versa - or am I wrong?

After a complete installation with registration code + name + product activation Chess Program 15 is the complete application, but I cannot detect another Fritz 15 executable file there to use this engine with WinBoard, ChessGUI, Arena etc.

A step-by-step explanation (with screenshots) would be useful. Or is a renaming of an .eng-file necessary to accomplish this task?

What are your experiences using Fritz 15 UCI in combination with other GUIs?

Best wishes,
Norbert

Fritz 15 aka Rybka 4.x should be a plain uci exe now. I seems you just have not found the real folder yet?

Didn't your request from over one year ago help?
(It seems the screenshot shows the subdirectory where it should be)

After a new installation of Fritz 15 only a folder Engines (not Engines UCI) is visible: Fritz 960.eng and Fritz Giveaway.eng - and ChessBase support is no real help in this case.

In Fritz 13 on Windows 10, there are 2 separate Engine folders.
I assume this will be the same for you with Fritz 15.
Try looking in
Program Files (x86) > Common Files > ChessBase > Engines.uci
and not
Program Files (x86) > ChessBase > Engines

Thank you very much Colin,

indeed - I concentrated my efforts on the wrong path!

Now I have found Fritz 15 win32 UCI.

Well that is exactly the path Graham already showed you in 2015...
