McBrain 2.4 Test Run

Post by MikeB »

McBrain v2.4 was tops at micro time control of 9" base with .15" increment

Code: Select all

250 rounds and 1500 games completed...
time control: 900+15
Date: 05/09/17 : 23:34:06
Rank Name Rating Δ + - # Σ Σ% W L D W% =% OppR
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
   1 McBrain 2017 2.4 64 POPC 3120 0.0 11 11 750 404.5 53.9 182 123 445 24.3 59.3 3093
   2 McBrain 2017 2.3 64 POPC 3114 6.0 11 11 750 396.0 52.8 174 132 444 23.2 59.2 3095
   3 Stockfish 050517 64 POPC 3085 29.0 11 11 750 354.0 47.2 132 174 444 17.6 59.2 3105

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Will this hold up at bullet time control of 90" base with 1.5" sec increment? I don't think so, for one there will be a lot more draws.

Look for updates about every 35 minutes or so ( every 60 games).

PGN File is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jxqvkskfgsq6h ... s.pgn?dl=1

The pgn file is updated every minute, typically 1 or 2 games are added on very update. The results above most likely will tighten up as more games are played that is typical behavior as some engines get off to a lucky start and other engines get off to an unlucky start.

everyone know latest SF is stronger than latest MB.
500 games at 9 sec. mean nothing, and 50 games at 90 sec. even less.
why do you keep posting those meaningless results?

please, ask some serious engine testing list to run 50 000 games for you at blitz TC, and you will see that MB is only a regression.

You have essentially 4 identical engines (differing mainly in compile) and 3 of those are called MB, and one SF. Chance that SF will be first is just 25% :D.

I don't care - just making sure the point is made. Chess computers and chess playing software has been my passion for nearly 40 years and to think a couple of idiots are going to stop me with a few posts because their panties are in a twitch is not my problem,it's theirs. Have a nice day 😊

any guess why are you the only one able to make such a significant progress with SF?
some 20+ active patch-writers who are trying almost everything have managed just 20 elo at 1 min, 17 at 3 and probably just 12 at blitz 5 min TC in half a year, and you are doing impossible +20/30 elo per month.

any guess?

Tell your momma it's time for a diaper change ...I posted a "test" run and made no superiority claims about McBrain at all - since that would be totally ludicrous - read my lips - McBrain is Stockfish and if McBrain happens to play well ALL of the credit goes to the Stockfish team - what part of that do you not understand ? Go get your diaper change - it stinks.

Where do you see any progress?? All those results are (and were) always
statistically insignificant - also most of the time it is not compared against
the base of the derivate.
