This season I'm going to make a change to the opening book used, going from 8-move Libra8 book to 5-move Balsa book.
Also, reverse games will be introduced which will take a bit of variation in the games, but will be somewhat fairier, specially in the highest leagues.
The idea for this season was to increase the overall strenght of the engines playing, so replacing the 16 engines that were relegated last season, all of the new entrants are 2500+, with most of them being 2800+ elo engines, with some special and very well known names like Rybka, Demolito, Spike, Spark, some old free Zappa version, among others. A new shiny 3000+ engine is making its debut, Xiphos. Which of the 16 new engines will be part of the 8 that will promote to the Junior League will be hard to guess...
As usual I plan to broadcast the matches live on my twitch channel (see signature for link), but as I'm also broadcasting Leela Chess Zero gauntlets and following progress, what I might do is pause the league, broadcast some Leela stuff, and resume it once Leela is done.
