Yes, I'm quite fond of them golden oldies myself. As far as legend status goes this one is platinum.

The only trouble with this Win32 port is that once it takes a processor's core it keeps using it continuously until killed by the GUI. IOW, WChess 1.06 acts as if it were pondering without actually pondering, even when the game is finished. That cuts in half the number of games that can be run simultaneously in any test including WChess. There are other engines with the same behavior: Eia 0.3, Macromix 2.01 and Rival 1.0.1.
