New ranking tool developed ... able to give answers!!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

Klaus Wlotzka developed a new ...

** Ranking tool **

With our still running FCP Tourney-2020 many interesting statistics are possible ...
Should be clear if 41 engines play 41.000 games each one against each other!

At first:
http://www.amateurschach.de/klaus/fcp-t ... lotzka.zip (Excel files by Klaus, still under development).
http://www.amateurschach.de/klaus/fcp-t ... lotzka.zip (121 excel tables convert to the *.pdf format).

I don't know why but I am sure not all of us have Microsoft Excel 365 installed.

A message about the new tool can be found on my main page too:

Frank's Chess Page
http://www.amateurschach.de

I will added the same example for TalkChess after 40 of 50 rounds from the still running FCP Tourney-2020.
= 32.800 from 41.000 games over
= 1.600 of 2.000 games per engines over
= 80% and are over and I am over too ... (lound thinking).

Example 1:
After 1.600 of 2.000 games the Wasp rating is: 2994,18 Elo

Have a look here (click of the links for a higher resolution):

Here you can see the feared opponents for Wasp (with our Excel tables easy to check for each of the 41 engines).

If I delete the 6 feared opponents ... the new Wasp rating is: 3002,73 Elo ... NOW JOHN IS MORE HAPPY
No, no ... feared opponents are important!

Excel calculate that in lesser as 1 second.

With your own fantasy you can build unlimited combinations.

Example 2:
If I delete the 5 last places from the ranking list, ratings for the first places goes higher with around 5 Elo.

Example 3:
If you add the 10 engines in the middle of the Elo list only ...
Wasp, Pedone, Chrion, Fritz 16, Vajolet2, Nirvanachess, Winter, Equinox, Igel & Critter
Wasp 4.00 goes 2 places higher and is on place 1/10, Fritz 16 (Rybka) lost and is on place 4/10 only.

Have fun with the work by Klaus Wlotzka ...
We are working on more and more stats with the produced game material.
The land of unlimited possibilities ... no problem with a strong database, generated with a balanced opening book with contempt factor for engine testing, FEOBOS is.

Best
Frank

And for Jouni ...

That is the answere of your question (you dislike to see Houdini ... could be Stockfish 9 or 10).
Please delete it with Excel and you will be happy.

Best
Frank

PS: We are working ...
The *.pdf files I speak in the message before will be available only for round 40 and to the end of tourney after round 50/50.
To many work to do that from round to round.

End of the tourney, all Excel files, *.pdf files, my text files, statistics files by statistic programs, the games (all the files around the tourney) will be available in one download file (I think later around 250Mb).
