I would like to see a compilation w/o popcount and ssse3 or sse4.1, which runs on old 64-bit hardware.

Re: Wasp 4.08 dev
Hi Guenther,
that's the point.
I discussed yesterday with John ... should be public a dev version or not because in 1-2 months the release versions (with more compiles) will be ready. This is a dev version only, started for the next tourney. All the other 43 participate programs are available. I dislike a lot to play with non available versions of engines / private versions of engines tournaments.
Covetousness are bad if a program participate in a big tourney.
Same opinion in times I am working on a rating list in the past.
For the moment it make no sense because as next others ask for the w32 version, the linux compile ... the DGT-Pi setup with Wasp. All this please not for an interim version / dev version.
I hope that Michael Byrne have time for a Mac version after the next release.
We have a lot of MAC users, asked often (no Mac version for Wasp 4.00 was available).
So, we public the dev version, used for the coming tournament without any big effort.
Important for looking and test a bit Wasp (after many changes John do in the last months) with longer time controls and with 5-man.
In the past using 4-man endgame bases only.
Hope of understandings!
