At rating lists there is a big race for third place. Houdini, Nemorino, SlowChess, Igel are the strongest candidates.

Ethereal chess engine would be in third place if Andrew had not taken a conservative attitude about NNUE nets.

Why do you ignore LCZero and Dragon MCTS?
Stoofvlees is private, so maybe you did not know it.

All of them aren't Stockfish clones like ShashChess, Raubfish engines etc. They are Stockfish based engines but they have some different ideas in their designs.

Lc0 and other NN engines need strong Gpu's to compete with strong Alpha-Beta engines. But most users do not have such an opportunity. The prices of powerful graphics cards are still at high levels for most of the people.

And Lc0 is a chess engine that I follow with interest. I have also worked on it in the past.
