Shogi : where to find collections of games ?

Post by Canoike »

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

While it is so easy to collect millions of games in pgn for chess, endgames, openings, mate in #, I wonder why I find so few shogi games in psn or kif format. Here and there a website gives some commented games. I would like to own a few thousand games so I know how a normal game is going on. Also some endgames mates since mate is the ultimate goal to reach. I have shogi dokoro and John Cheetham's gshogi software with international western set.

Thanks for helping.

The link is dead now.

What is the strongest free shogi software ? I suppose this must be a NNUE one.
Yaneraou states it is the best because it won the 2019 computer tournament. https://github.com/yaneurao/YaneuraOu
I need a strong shogi software in order to analyze games, not to play against it.
Thanks !

Yes, YaneuraOu already is among the strongest engines for quite some time and currently its latest release also seems to be the strongest according to https://www.qhapaq.org/shogi/. I could not find a download link for the current #1 NNUE net on this rating list, but you can download the #5 from https://github.com/nodchip/tanuki-/rele ... 2021-05-04.
