The Ditch Digger and the Scientist

Post by CRoberson »

I've seen this particular phenomena happen too several people over the last 30+ years, so I created a story to explain it.

There is a ditch digger and a scientist that are neighbors. Everyday after work they challenge each other to a chess match and an
arm wrestling match. On Thursdays and Fridays the ditch digger wins the chess match and the scientist wins the arm wrestling match.
On Sundays and Mondays the scientist easily wins the chess match and quickly loses the arm wrestling match.

Why? On Friday night they are both worn out from their jobs. The ditch diggers muscles are weak and the scientists mind is fatigued. However, on Sunday and Monday they are both refreshed.

Now, don't get into any junk about my choice of titles. There is no insult intended anywhere it is just an abstract concept expressed in the simplest way I can think of. Of course, there are lots of exceptions to general patterns in jobs and abilities
