Ladies and gentlemen,
I am very proud to announce my new engine LAS TORRES (Spanish for The Rooks), which is capable of utterly crushing Stockfish in competition, and most other engines too of course.
Been tinkering with this for the past couple of days, and am currently at a point where I can say that yeah, I've accomplished something pretty unique. It's based on a simple yet absolutely brilliant insight I had the other day during soccer practice.
Before proceeding, I'd like to understand what the best course of action is? How would I most effectively prove my engine's superiority? I would love to post the idea here, but am slightly concerned someone will steal it and beat me to the finish line.

Just publish the engine source under GPLv3 or a proprietary license. Or join an online chess competition using xboard

Forgive me my friend, but there are so many people who say they create a unique engine and then it turns out that it is not
Put the code under GPLv3 on github along with the executable so that everyone can test the strength of the engine

Re: HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT -- "LAS TORRES" NEW ENGINE THAT OBLITERATES STOCKFISH
Another idea is to post some games of your engine when it beat stockfish.
I suggest that stockfish use no tablebases,no opening book and 100M nodes per move with a single core and 2048 mbytes hash so people can easily verify your results because stockfish is deterministic in these conditions.
I find that even at lower levels beating stockfish is almost impossible so I will be impressed if you can produce some games with different openings in the next 48 hours(one when white start 1.e4 and wins one when white start 1.d4 and win and one when white start 1.Nf3 and win)
I did not try stockfish with 1000M nodes against stockfish with 100M nodes per move but I guess that
Using stockfish with 1000M nodes per move is not enough for it and at least 100M nodes per move could not beat 10M nodes per move in my tests.

Re: HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT -- "LAS TORRES" NEW ENGINE THAT OBLITERATES STOCKFISH
I think you should play some test matches against Gigantua as well. Especially now, that the source code for Gigantua has been released (2 days ago, as per the other thread). Stockfish is old news...

There is no claim that Gigantua is a chess engine that can play chess well.Mergi wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 8:56 am I think you should play some test matches against Gigantua as well. Only that it is the fastest move generator.
If your post is to imply that a fast move generator is not important then I disagree.
I think that having the fastest move generator is also important even if it has no advantage to playing strength(and I do not claim it can give no advantage).
Playing strength is not everything in chess and different people may compete in different tasks.
