Question for Stockfish / Komodo team

Post by Werewolf »

With the Apple M1X likely to be released soon, do you have any plans to release your engines for the M1X but as a Windows release?
(i.e. Windows running in Parallels)

Both engines are probably gonna run OK on parallels in future Macs. The computer does not exist in the wild yet though and if current rumors are true that it is just an M1 with a few more cores, it will likely be a poor-performing option for chess lovers (given how much the M1 underperforms currently) , even compared to current lower priced AMD laptops.

I will have to study how hard that would be to do (a Windows m1x compile). We do already have an m1 compile for MacOS.
