Cake 1.88q is one of the world's most powerful checkers engines for the PC platform, and plays stronger than any human. It is quite frustrating to play against it, but it is a great tool for analysis.

If you are looking for something even better, then use Ed Gilbert's KingsRow engine.

Do not post any more biblical links to YouTube either. This is not a religious forum.

I love Checkers too, doesn't hurt to talk about Checkers every once in a while...
I used both of these programs to play KingsRow and Cake engines on my computer and Android phone.

It seems to be that the solution for Chinook checkers was the combination of opening moves that led to the endgames without the need to calculate in the middlegame where chinook had an endgame of 8 pieces capable of seeing 406 billion positions in 1994 ==>

Chessqueen wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 3:28 amOne of the main reason why checkers was solved is that most openings lead to the endgame and the majority of the checkers grandmasters memorize those openings or 100% of the openings in checkers already has been calculated by chinook to the very end. Take this opening for instance and see that it is already memorized with the best variations response for Black pieces to equalize the draw at the end of the game; with chess you can NOT do this since at the end of every opening the middlegame is the most complicated part of the game where most top grandmasters take advantage of their weaker opponents, therefore with 100% of the checkers opening already analyzed Chinook with a good 8 pieces endgame database can draw all the games if both play perfect ==>Chessqueen wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 2:04 pmI will, but since Checkers was solved the question is when will Chess be solved and will it be when a 8 men or 9 men endgame database is created?
