Something has copied badly in your analysis. 1 ..... Kg8 is a null move? :)

You understood my hint about the Michael- Michael- team, didn't you?
First one Michael more exactly named is Mihai Neghina, second one Michael is Co- Autor Roxlau.
"Smothering" was published 2016 in Schwalbe regards

I found the problem at this page where there they follow a different line for blacks 5th move.

http://www.arves.org/arves/index.php/en ... walbe-2016

At the end of their line I tried a variety of engines, some could get a TB mate score but none gave
an actual mate score.

I found the publication of the problem thanks to Peter's last hint. It can be seen here:

Problem 16887. Diagram at page 365 and solution at page 366.

Die Dame wird auf eine reizvolle Art eingesperrt, was einen nachhaltigen Eindruck bei Lösern und Nachspielenden hinterlässt – und natürlich auch beim Preisrichter.
5.- ..., Ke7 is also analysed in the publication instead of 5.- ..., Ke8. 'ZZ' after '10.Kc6+-' stands for 'zugzwang' if I am not wrong.

I wonder which are the Chest parameters to solve the DTM problem once the queen is trapped. Very nice problem by the way!

Regards from Spain.
