CCRL is a volunteering effort. Nobody gets paid for it. If you don't like how they treat engines, instead of criticizing then in adjust every single one of your posts, please join the effort and offer your help
A practical example of why it is good to keep quiet if you do not know what it is about.
CCRL is not criticized, on the contrary, it is the reference base for all my tests (as they are).
It's a single person bothered (and not for computer chess reasons) by the appearance of the Clover engine. As can be seen in the CCRL tests, neither the author nor the name of the country is mentioned. Not to mention more.
For Clover:
For other engines (just an example):
Was Clover's author treated like that just because he's a kid? (
https://www.chessprogramming.org/Luca_Metehau ). Of course not. If you were knowledgeable about Central and Eastern Europe, you would know who (in CCRL team) was bothered. And why.
A beautiful day !
PS: and as a detail: Zahak and Clover appeared at about the same time.
All versions of Zahak were tested immediately (what effort) .... although (until the last version) he was always under Clover (
a single version 2.4-untested for FIVE months in CCRL Blitz) ......
