A (big) Christmas surprise from CCRL Blitz (team ?). The engine was released in mid July......this year, fortunately.....
They are probably waiting for the children to grow up .....

The Christmas spirit is generosity. On that basis, the most "Christmasy" computer I've played this year is Boris (as recreated by Franz Huber in accurate emulation, which let me win in 10 moves!)

A practical example of why it is good to keep quiet if you do not know what it is about.
CCRL is not criticized, on the contrary, it is the reference base for all my tests (as they are). It's a single person bothered (and not for computer chess reasons) by the appearance of the Clover engine. As can be seen in the CCRL tests, neither the author nor the name of the country is mentioned. Not to mention more.

Was Clover's author treated like that just because he's a kid? ( https://www.chessprogramming.org/Luca_Metehau ). Of course not. If you were knowledgeable about Central and Eastern Europe, you would know who (in CCRL team) was bothered. And why.

PS: and as a detail: Zahak and Clover appeared at about the same time. All versions of Zahak were tested immediately (what effort) .... although (until the last version) he was always under Clover (a single version 2.4-untested for FIVE months in CCRL Blitz) ......
