Re: Komodo Dragon 2.6 set to UCI_ELO 2850
The ending brought back memories of my last Correspondence Tournament. I swore it off after this...too many were starting to use engines.
ICCF World Championship Semi-Finals
Smith (2398) - Sakai (2470).
Sakai had allowed me to trade down into an ending I was sure I could hold.

You are a great player to have drawn against Sakai Kiyotaka, can you play one game at T/C 15 minutes plus 10 seconds bonus against Komodo Dragon 2.6 set UCI=2450 and post it here. https://www.365chess.com/game.php?gid=2766312Cornfed wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 4:02 am The ending brought back memories of my last 'Correspondence Tournament' when it was clear some were using engines. A) I don't own Dragon2.6 (did not renew after my sub ended with Komodo 13.3). Someday I'll spring for Dragon.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 4:11 amYou are a great player to have drawn against Sakai Kiyotaka, can you play one game at T/C 15 minutes plus 10 seconds bonus against Komodo Dragon 2.6 set UCI=2450 and post it here. https://www.365chess.com/game.php?gid=2766312Cornfed wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 4:02 am The ending brought back memories of my last 'Correspondence Tournament' when it was clear some were using engines. B) This time of the year I don't have time to do much chess. I hope to get back to OTB tourneys in the coming weeks though.
C) I'm really not sure what the point of a one off game would be. It would surely beat me. My OTB topped out at around 2180.
Sakai became a Correspondence GM 4 yrs later.
He's seems to be genuinely good but I am leery of Correspondence "titles". I've faced a local ICCF GM in 2 standard OTB tourneys in recent years scoring 1.5/2. Small sample size...but one can still draw conclusions.
