Why is Stockfish with NNUE so blind sometimes
This is a genuine question, not a cmplaint in any way. Iknow that NNUE has made Stockfish a lot stronger, but every now and then I encounter positions where NNUE has no clue. I'll post some examples in new posts. Before testing with NNUE off, i first let default Stockfish (with NNUE enabled) run for a couple of hours on every position i'll post, and it didn't find the solution.

We measure engine success by elo, and by that measure, Stockfish is very successful. But if Stockfish NNUE (or any NNUE engine) has many blind spots, is it fit for purpose as an analysis tool? And how common is this anyway? Is there some automated way of detecting these blind spots by running the NNUE and HCE in parallel?
Fat Titz by Stockfish, the engine with the bodaciously big net. Remember: size matters. If you want to learn more about this engine just google for "Fat Titz".

I'm asking because I don't see an issue when stockfish finds a -5 solution instead of some specific -6 solution (and are you guys even certain it's worse?). The issue presented in this thread does not exist.

the 2nd pos though is indeed a major mistake by SF because 1.Kd7 is not ev=3.20 but rather 0.00...1.f4!! is the ONLY winning move !
my personal explanation for that is that 1... eighter the trained net is still not perfectly trained or 2...the trained net is still too small to get enough knowledge into it to have a better clue in this very specific endgame or 3...both of it...idk but one thing is for sure: SF doesnt "understand" the pos at all
(this ...Kc6 and ...b4 idea is currently very far beyond its "NNUE"-horizon)
[...btw: my SugarAI 2.40 (special settings) got it in around 12 min with a MPV-reduction-method (mpv24; 18;12;6 with 3min for each step)..Ryzen 3600, 12 threads, no TB's]
