Question for advanced users of Scid

Post by Jonathan003 »

I like SCID because it is very fast.
I wonder if it would be possible somehow with Scid to search for duplicates when player names are different?
Maybe by editing some tcl file?
If that's not possible I would like to request an option to completely ignore player names when searching for duplicates.

It are technically not exact doubles. But I don't see how it can be useful to keep games with exact the same moves, and exact the same results, together in a database.

I also sometimes have problems importing pgn databases with more then 20 miljoen games. Is there a limitation for database size with Scid?
I haver read that is sometimes helps to remove the site tag and round tag in a text editor before importing such big pgn file into Scid.
I use Scid 4.7
