Komodo Dragon 3 different to Stockfish 15 ?

Post by Lion »

Hello all,

I am an owner of the free Stockfish 15 which I understand is the strongest chess engine available.
How different is the output of Komodo Dragon 3 compared to Stockfish 15 ?
Will it spit 99,9% of the time the same lines or does it have very different evaluations/output?

Thanks & regards

Hello,

As a tester, I notice they have different evaluations and also they almost produce a same line and both of them pick the best move in a certain position and I suggest that run both of them in analysis until they have same move and line that they produce, also they both play their own respective style of chess.

I have to agree with Basti's assessment. They usually pick the same moves but sometimes greatly vary on others and it's good because it makes you look at better alternatives. Sometimes I see that the SF15 move is better or DK3 is better. I like especially for opening analysis.

The question is what percent of the time will the have the same best moves.

I would guesstimate about 90% they always agree.
