Hi Graham,

Roc is GullChess?!
From IPP times? Think so!

FabChess and Amoeba have around the same level?
Will looking later this evening in CCRL ratings.

Have a nice evening!

Uralochka is very strong.
I think in my list over 3200 Elo.
In CCRL around 3325 or a bit higher (the last version).

The style of chess is great, we will have a lot of fun with Uralochka.

Best

It's sad that many enthusiasts are only interested in the top few engines.

These engines are very strong and can produce some wonderful games too.

Even in my lowest divisions, there are great games. We call the level of chess there as understandable to humans. :)

Hi Graham,

I know that and have a bad conscience to test the strongest programs.
In winboard times I tested all what is available a very long time.

The problem ...
Over 1.000 different engines are available.

You are World's engine tester number 1.
You can ... Leo do that also a long time.
http://arnaud.loheac.free.fr/ ... different others can.

I like self playing and using a lot of engines!
Using, Wasp on DGT with different levels, the old Phalanx 22, AnMon or SSEChess, the old Zarkov or the old DOS program Tjes (from The Netherland), an old Zeus from Spain (DOS program), CT-800 or CheckCheck. Different older chess computers all the time. And believe me ... so long I can play chess, so long will be Zarkov, AnMon the others my opponents.

On my website I add information about my TOP-Level tourneys for the reason that I am working with the games on a new book system. The second reason (main reason) I need stronger opponents for testing current Wasp versions. To have own ratings is great for give John information. The others can use the information too.

But you are to 100% right!

The same fun ... maybe more fun ... we can have with a 41er tourney with 2300 Elo engines.
More fun because ... the move average is lesser, more short games and often we understand better what engines are able to play!

:-)

Best

  MoveAvg (average) : 181.53 / 90.765

  Draws : 13.898 (56.5%)

  White Perf. : 57.9%
  Black Perf. : 42.1%

Looking here ...
90,765 move average in my run-4.
People lost interest to test engines on high-level niveau with such a move-average.

From the first 2460 games from my current run-6 =

100 - 199 moves = 720 games = 29,26%
200 - 299 moves = 051 games = 2,073% ... and here ... it goes higher and higher!!

Very danger situation in computer chess.
And on the end of the day the people installed 2300 - 2400 or 2400 - 2500 Elo engines on HD.
Back to the roots!

The 100% logical reverse conclution in around 4-5 years!
Danger ...

Best
Frank

But we have all the nice engines with lesser playing strength and the tourneys from you and others!
The work you do here is indeed very important!!

Thanks, Frank.

I think it's important to support the authors of these engines.
