InfinityChess Prize Tour on Sunday 12th of June

Post by Damir »

This is our firstprize tour with 12 predefined opening positionsat move 1.
1st Prize 500 USD (- 10% for InfinityChess)2nd Prize 200 USD (- 10% for InfinityChess)
It's opento players who participated in at least 2WBCET test tours before and who played correct (=allowed) opening moves and who did not forfeit games.

Our Swiss System cannot guarantee a balancednumber of White's and Black's to everyone in case of an even number of games.(For example: If 12 rounds, some players might have 7 White's, others only 5.) That's why we choose an uneven number of rounds: 13. The player with one less White's (6 instead of 7) gets a tiebreak bonus prior to Buchholz and Sonneborn Berger.

These are the 1st moves allowed by White & Black:

1.e4 d5 1.e4 a6 1.e4 Nf6
1.d4 g6 1.d4 Nc6 1.d4 c5
1.c4 Nc6 1.c4 d5 1.c4 b6
1.Nf3 b6 1.Nf3 f5 1.Nf3 h6

If anyone want to play in a prize tour there is still time. There is test tour tomorrow on InfinityChess server with the openings that I mentioned called WBCET Test 4 Friday 03 June 12+2 Runds 11 Starts 1600ST. Please set your books according to the openings mentioned:

1.e4 d5 1.e4 a6 1.e4 Nf6
1.d4 g6 1.d4 Nc6 1.d4 c5
1.c4 Nc6 1.c4 d5 1.c4 b6
1.Nf3 b6 1.Nf3 f5 1.Nf3 h6

You are free to choose what opening you want to play from the list mentioned. There is no obligation you must play all the openings mentioned above. Just choose one stable opening you want to play as Black from the above mentioned..

There probably will also be 1-2 TEST tours next week as well.. so please if you want to play in a prize tour don't hesitate to join in TEST Tours that are beeing arranged...

In order to participate in the prize tournament, two test tournaments must be played. Next is tomorrow 4pm server time. There may be another test tournament (I hope so), so whoever plays tomorrow can hope to be a part of the prize tournament.

I can't find any information anywhere about test tournaments being arranged.

I only found Kevin saying somewhere that if one wants to know one has to be there all the time...

Thanks, looks like there will not be more test tournaments, so information about this was leaked too late. I guess they want as little participation as possible, otherwise they had plenty of time to make more test tournaments in the remaining time till June 12.

Like Cumnor said to you as you said: you have to be on the server to be aware of such tours and apparently since you are never there, don't want to be, and always find a reason to complain, it is better for you to stay that way..

It did not appear on Kevin's page: http://infinitychess.com/Tournaments/Forthcoming so if they're planning more test tournaments there's no way to know (one can get on there and waste time if there's no more test tourneys), that's what I complain about (as opposed to planning all test tournaments in advance and putting them on that page, so one can make plans.)

I appreciate your reports about the tournament, otherwise I'd not have known about it.
