Look what I Purchased today at a garage Sale.

Post by Chessqueen »

I decided to walk for 3 miles today and saw a garage sale sign, and something told me go and see what they have for sale so to my surprise, I first saw a lot of chess books that were for sale for $1.00 each. I purchased about 15 chess books, and asked the lady do you have any wooden chess board and she told me My ex husband that died of Covi19 have one in his closet, but I believe that it play chess too. I do NOT know how much he paid for it but he always said to me that it was his baby, well I really do NOT want to sell it but if you give me $130.00 I will consider it. Immediately I knew when she said that she believe that it play chess too that it was a wooden chess computer I got excited and asked her to show it to me. To my surprise it was in MINT condition as if he only used it a couple of times, my heart started to beat faster and I knew that Wooden playing computer cost at least $400.00 new I told her do NOT show it to nobody else I will be right back with the Money. I never ever run so fast to my house to get the money and on my way I google it and remembered that it was this Baby Millennium computer WOW was I lucky. As I got back to her garage she told me I do NOT know if I should sell it since he always said to me that it was his BABY, I felt sorry for her but at the same time offered her an extra $20.00 and said to her I will give you $150.00 and waited for her response she look at it with little tear on her Eyes and said I hope he is NOT upset with me, but I do NOT know what to do with his BABY I do NOT play chess neither my children. As she was giving it to me it was wrapped and when I opened it it look brand NEW. I felt a little sad and gave her another extra $25.00 total $175.00 she was happy and told me please take care of it like my ex husband used to and I gave her assurance that I will. This is the same Computer Computer that I got for ONLY $175.00 and it is in Mint condition it almost cost $1,000,00 https://www.houseofstaunton.com/the-sup ... gJuo_D_BwE

Note: Shredder 8 was one of the DVD that I got for only $3.00 from her besides Chess Books.

Jesus, nice score, but personally, I don't know how much I could enjoy such a prize given the circumstances.

Goes to show those of us chess folks remaining that life is very precious.

One moment you're fiddling with the chess engines, the next your wife is tearfully selling your stuff. :|

Off to the gym...

First of all, that Wooden Computer was made to be used by a chess fan, not to be inside of a closet, I Know that he would be happy to see that I take care of his BABY as good as he did, instead of collecting dust. That is how life is, NOT even the pharaohs from Egypt were able to take with them all the Golds and Diamonds that they had when they died; that is why I always say that when you can help your family if you are millionaire to do so while you still can enjoy to see them smiling as you help them, because if one of your children is in need and you can help them such as not having good credit and purchase a home, they do NOT have to wait until their parent died to be able to purchase that home, if it not going to take too much out of your fortune and you can help them while you are still alive to see them enjoy it.

Wasn't trying to debate with you dude, just sharing some introspection I had based on your story.

Keep it classy. 8-)

I'm going to the gym too in 30 minutes, and when I return home my Millenium Chess Computer that I purchased at a bargain, will still be home waiting for me. The lady that I purchased it from, only lives 2.5 miles away from me, if she wants to see it, I can bring it to her and I can play a few games like her ex husband used to do once in a while to bring her memory. I know what some of you are thinking, but she is also very beautiful and I can accomodate that too for her.
