Is there an interface for analysis that does the following

Post by Uri Blass »

1)take a pgn of a chess game that I did not see and want to analyze.
2)ask me to guess the next move and to make comments(I can avoid it and click next move without comments as long as the game is theory that I know).
3)Only after I finish guessing and commenting and click next move the interface show me the move of the game and again go to step 2.
In step 2 I can see only the previous moves of the games and not the next moves(the same situation that the players were during the game).
4)Of course the interface save all my comments and the moves that I suggested so later I can watch the games together with my comments and the moves that I offered.
5)Later I can analyze the game with an engine and make additional comments based on what I analyzed with the engine when the interface also save them.

Yes, I think Bookup (Chess Openings Wizard) has this functionality, allowing comments and hiding of variations, you can also add multiple PGNs at the same time and an entire collection, so if you hit any of the moves of any of the PGNs you continue from there which is easier than trying to hit a single move of a single game.

Too bad its creator was ruined by greed, has made the later versions of the software worse over the years, and removed features so if you want them you have to buy the priciest version, at a ridiculous price.
Your beliefs create your reality, so be careful what you wish for.

Chess Position Trainer. You can download a free trial version.
The creater however appears to have stopped development (then again...it was pretty darn near perfect...and looks much nicer than Bookup/COW).
