This mate problem was posted a while ago on the internet, with no details given about the number of moves to the checkmate. I tried Stockfish, ChestUCI and Cristal on it, with no success. Anyone with bigger hardware and/or more competent than me willing to try?

Thanks. Could you share the parmeters you used for Chest? Is it version 5.2?

Re: Hard to find mate
Thank you. As I said, I found Chest parametrization a little complicated. May be that was the reason why I didn't succeed. Could you please share the search parameters you used?

Re: Hard to find mate
edit:
the parameters are always given in my posts above (look carefully) ...as for the #36 they were: "Suche nach 1. Spezial-Matt [C2/R0/K0/P0/X0] in 37"
ps: extremely unlikely that that there does exist a shorter solution imho !!?

Yes, rather unlikely, PeerSpliffjiffer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 3:01 pm edit:

BTW, the C2 param isn't necessary neither, as it seems.
I had Chest and SlowChess backwarding Chest's #36- line togehter, wherever SlowChess wanted to have a detour I did let Chest help to find the shorter way:
