I would think it would be a pretty balanced match. Does your use of the word "still" mean that he has previously played an older version of Dragon or Komodo at knight odds FRC? I'm not aware of any such games, or indeed of any games in which he took knight odds from any engine at any time control.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 2:39 am Wondering if Hikaru can still beat Dragon 3.x at FRC Knight Odds games at 5 minutes ?

I checked everywhere and Nakamura has never played against any versions of Komodo or Dragon with a Knight Odds FRC, but how can you assume that the World FRC Champion would come out even against Dragon using 5 minutes per game let say in a match of 7 gameslkaufman wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 5:30 amI would think it would be a pretty balanced match. Note: This would be an interesting match if you can arrange it against Nakamura who is NOT like Carlsen afraid to play against any engine.

I don't "assume" any result, but I think it is the best prediction I can make based on available evidence, namely that GM Alex Lenderman played pretty evenly at this handicap with Komodo (pre-Dragon) in Rapid (15' + 10"). I think that current Dragon playing 5' blitz is at least as strong as pre-Dragon Komodo playing Rapid (probably stronger), and that Lenderman playing Rapid is roughly at the same level as Nakamura playing blitz, so I have no reason to think that Nakamura would be favored in such a match. That doesn't mean he wouldn't win, either side can win pretty decisively in a short match if the chances in each game are about even.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 11:39 pmI checked everywhere and Nakamura has never played against any versions of Komodo or Dragon with a Knight Odds FRC, but how can you assume that the World FRC Champion would come out even against Dragon using 5 minutes per game let say in a match of 7 gameslkaufman wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 5:30 amI would think it would be a pretty balanced match.
