Eschecs 5.1.2 (UCI chess GUI)

Post by Roland Chastain »

Hello everybody!

A new version of my simple UCI chess GUI written in Pascal is available.

What's new, compared to the previous version? 1° Eschecs now uses a Polyglot opening book. 2° I made a launcher, named Assistant, for people who don't like command line, which allows to start Eschecs with the desired options (for selecting your own book, for example).

For now there are only binaries for Linux, but it should be easy to build for Windows (for example by using included Lazarus projects).

The source code is here. Under Linux, it's very easy to download and build from terminal (provided that you have Free Pascal installed). See instructions. (It should work also under Windows, but I am not sure, since I didn't tried with that version.)

It has not been much tested (and not tested at all under Windows). I would be glad, of course, to have some feedback.

Best regards.

Roland
