A classic email from my Chessmaster days

Post by JVMerlino »

Going through a bunch of old stuff in the basement, I found an email from 2000 that I'm very glad I had the foresight to print out. I hope it amuses you and gives you some insight into some of the correspondence I used to get as Project Manager of Chessmaster. Enjoy!

Hello,
I recently purchased the Chessmaster 7000 game. While playing a few games in the game room, I would almost have my opponent beat when the game would declare a stalemate. I had most of my pieces on the board while my opponent was down to a few pawns and a king. I was clearly on my way to victory before the game was stopped. Why is this? The game is not worth playing with this stalemate feature. Please fix.

Yes, this should be fixed. I do not know why FIDE keeps insisting on this since their first set of rules in 1928. Major major problem :D
