My pleasure. The fast Elo-progress, Caissa makes, is really impressive. But you should definitly try to make Caissa playing more interesting and aggressive. The EAS-Scoring of Caissa right now is really, really bad (last rank in my EAS-Ratinglist):

Yeah, I've seen that. It's a bit weird that Caissa is the least aggressive engine according to the list, being one of the strongest at the same timepohl4711 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:31 pmMy pleasure. The old Richard Lang Chesscomputers (Mephisto Genius, Vancouver etc.) were very strong at their time and their playing style was called "do nothing, but do it well."... IMHO, it is easier to make a strong engine, which plays so solid (boring...), than making a strong engine, playing aggressive. Because, playing aggressive means, taking risks (playing a sac for example). And taking risks can lead to losses. And losses lead to lower Elo.Witek wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 3:03 pmYeah, I've seen that. https://www.sp-cc.de/eas-ratinglist.htmI'm not sure why it is like that...
This can be seen in my full EAS Ratinglist. Different engines there getting worse in EAS, when stronger, newer versions of the engine are tested. Velvet, Revenge, Rebel are good examples:
https://www.sp-cc.de/files/spcc_full_list.txt
All these engines lose more and more EAS points, with each new and stronger version. This shows, that gaining Elo often means losing aggressivity.
But Caissa definitly needs some more aggressivity, IMHO.
First and easy step could be, trying to reduce the number of bad draws. This can be done with an internal, dynamic Contempt, which is high at the beginning of a game and is lowered automatically with each capture. That should prevent so many draws, before reaching the endgame... Just my 2cents.
