Off topic: forum access
For some time I have to mark a tick-box before I can access the forum. I know it is for some security reason I don't know anything about but it's annoying. Is there a way to avoid that? Replacing https with http did not help.

I agree, it is irritating.

We (HGM, Chris and me) reached a deal with ChessUSA (our host) and now have access to the forum software. Repairing issues like this is high on our agenda.

Can you please also move the javascripts for the fen diagrams to the Talkchess server? HGM's server has a self-signed certificate so that browsers don't load the scripts if TC is accessed like it should be, over https. Specfically, it's "name.js" and "fen.js" that get blocked. I already mentioned that in another topic here https://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic. ... 05#p950805, but got no reply so far.

The problem is a side effect of the cloudflare check introduction. I assume the problem will be automatically solved when we remove it, but that's up to HGM.Ras wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 8:35 pmCan you please also move the javascripts for the fen diagrams to the Talkchess server? Nope, that's unrelated to Cloudflare. When you load a website over https, and try to pull in scripts via an unsecure connection, browsers won't load the scripts. The connection is unsecure because the https certificate on HGM's server is self-signed. So either these scripts need to be moved to Talkchess where https works properly, or HGM needs to get a proper certificate on his server - which doesn't even cost anything because Let's Encrypt is for free.
But just removing the Cloudflare check won't help.
