Nice Carp Game

Post by AdminX »

After reading a comment by Frank (Quisinsky), I decided to compile (Native) the latest version of Carp for my Linux OS this morning. This thing is pretty strong, I was impressed it's play in this game as black. By the way what is the strongest chess engine written in Rust?

Very impressive - extending the kingside chain and having the pawn mass carry the day.
Remember, until a few years ago most engines used to struggle with this concept.

Hi,

oh yes, Carp search the advantage very early in the game with a lot aggressiveness. Then loses a little the very high playing strength. A bit more engine features and optimazations and a new TOP engine was born.

Many engines are new for me in my still running tourney. I can't look in all of the engines in the first days. But what I saw from Avalanche and Willow are also great. Willow is very ready in the playing style, made many things more as strong. Maybe the engine should hold in the beginning of the late middle-game more pieces on king site. Avalanche is playing other chess as the most do and are able to found a surprise.

But most interesting is RubiChess. The perfect monster in positional playing style with a lot of aggressiveness. Each small advantage is used mercilessly fatal. Move average is TOP. A clear draw Rubi can give very fast draw (like that). With Dragon most interesting TOP-8 engine from the style of chess after all what I saw and for sure stronger as I await before (maybe place 4 or 5 in the World).

Igel have a great eval, much earlier as the others the engine saw the advantage. Move average is also fantastic, but move-average (without resign) was in the older version strong also.

In the next days Viridithas and Stromphrax is on my list for looking.

Have fun with Carp, a gift!

Best
Frank

At the moment I would like to say ...

RubiChess is the most interesting chess program I ever saw. Have many fun here also in analyzsing opening postion for my private book. Here Rubichess is my absolutly number 1 with a big advantage to my number 2. Just a great chess program.

But I am very special with chess things I do in my free time. For others are endgames important for an example.

But Carp is the topic ...
The engine is on my personal watching list.
I will give Carp in the next months a chance for analyzsing positions for my opening book.
